Check out Luke Holder from Method & Craft on “Layer Style Jailbreaking”. He show us how to make Photoshop Layer Styles separate into their own layer and some reasons why we want to do that.

I’ve been looking for a while for a tutorial that explains how to do tileable textures in photoshop. Two days ago I stumbled on Phil Coffman’s great video tutorial (from Method & Craft) explaining exactly what I wanted. Definitely must check it out!

I’m creating a mascot character for a client’s business, and this is part of the brainstorming process: One of my favorite steps of this job . Here’s one of the characters that I came up with during the brainstorming session: For generating ideas my favorite thing to do is draw for hours whatever comes into [...]

Now that I have a couple of characters designed, I started putting together the landing page. Wasn’t 100% sure about the button, I think it looks nice, but don’t know if it matches the style that we’re going for. I’d love to hear your comments please, anybody! In case you’re wondering, the purpose of this [...]

I’ve been collecting inspirational pieces for the last two weeks and studying the work from dribbble awesome artists like Jayde Cardninalli, Glenn Thomas, Lydia Nichols, Shiu Pei Luu and many others. So here is the first vector illustration I’ve ever done. The cloud and text look a little bit out of place, but I was [...]

Today I started drawing a set of characters that are going to be included in the final design for my friend’s landing page. So far, in my illustration career, I’ve only drawn random characters, so it’s been a challenge to keep a consistent style across all the drawings and repeating the same character doing something [...]

Trying to achieve a cartoonish vintage style for this shot. Learned a couple of really nice tricks in Photoshop, totally worth the time put into it.

This is my post for last Friday, unfortunately this drawing took so freaking long! I was trying to practice textures more than everything. Although it doesn’t look super awesome, I learned a lot while working on it. I felt a lot more confortable using Sketchbook Pro this time around. Check out bigger version here:

I had a meeting today with a really cool guy and he told me about this crazy idea he had for his startup logo. The icon I designed is just the base for that idea, but it still looks pretty cool . Everything was designed in Photoshop from scratch, using real life pictures (of my [...]

For today’s post I chose to design a logo for my friend who’s just getting his business started and to be honest had a crappy logo (to say the least). It hasn’t been approved yet, but thought I might share it here. Designing is becoming so addictive! Post your comments or say something if you [...]

Today’s post, I’m experimenting painting with water color. Really like the effects that you can get with them, a lot more texture and color mixing colors is a lot of fun

Me and my girlfriend have been watching the Police Academy series for the last 2 weeks, so I chose it as my theme for today’s drawing. Not 100% happy with it… The sketch on pen was kinda good, but the coloring didn’t go as good as I wanted it to. I feel like I could [...]
